Timeless Craftsmanship

Maison Baguès is a French luxury lighting and metalwork company that was founded by Noël Baguès in 1860 . The company began producing lighting when Noël’s son Eugène joined in 1880, becoming famous internationally as a creator of art lighting. The company is known for its Louis XIV and Empire style lighting, as well as its parrots, foliage chandeliers and wall sconces with glass beads.

Maison Baguès has been an emblem of French sophistication in luxury lighting design. Each piece the artists make is hand-assembled using traditional techniques in order to emphasize the elegance and excellence of their detailed artisanal work.

We’re honored to have been chosen to restore quite a few of these extremely intricate fixtures over the years; Some of which were in terrible condition. Restoring a Maison Bagues requires a range of knowledge for creative problem solving techniques, such as jewelry making, gold leafing, cleaning Ormolu finishes, intricate pinning tasks and a lot of patience.

We have collected a treasure trove of photos and drawings of their mid 1800’s to 1935 fixtures, most of which the designs vary wildly. They were artistically innovative trendsetters.

All things considered, Maison Bagues are our favorite fixture to work on. The tedious tasks are well worth the stunning final results.
